In the space of 48 hours we’ve heard what we suspected might be the case. Vendex organiser Phil Reynolds has advised us, as below, that the whole series of 2020 shows has been shelved until 2021.
‘New Vendex dates for 2021
Due to the current Covid-19 virus, we have had to make the difficult decision to take Vendex 2020 off the calendar for the remainder of this year. This will allow us to move to a time when it can be held safely, and to a level that you have come to expect at Vendex.
This wasn’t an easy decision to make but feel it is in the best interests of our Exibitors, Visitors and Venue Staff. Their safety of which comes above all else.
Therefore. The new dates for 2021 are as follows.
Glasgow February 10th
Milton Keynes April 13th
Leeds United November 10th
We trust you will understand and appreciate why we have had to do this, so in the meantime, we hope that you, and those around you are keeping safe and well. We will get through this and we look forward to seeing you at Vendex next year.’
Then we heard from the European Vending and Coffee Association with the new that EVEX would also be postponed until 2021.
EVEX 2020
It is with sadness that we announce the cancellation of this year’s EVEX in Krakow (due to take place 16-18 September). EVEX is postponed to 2021. New dates will be communicated soon.
This is not a decision we have taken lightly and there are major concerns that have caused us to make this decision at this time.
Sad times, but the Vending Industry will find other ways to network and do business in 2020 in the meantime.
