City Vending
Of all years to have a significant birthday, this surely must be the worst, however we can always find ways to celebrate, and we’re sure that Kelly and Shawn of City Vending will open a bottle or two.
Twenty years ago on the 19th June 2000 City Vending’s Shawn Pugh started his fledgling business from a room in his and Kelly’s first home together.
According to Kelly, ‘there have been many highs and a few lows over the last 20 years, we have employed some fab characters over the years. Our current staff have also been amazing through the past few months as we’ve gone through the COVID-19 pandemic’. She added ‘in fact we still employ our very first operator who still going strong after 18 years so we must be doing something right.’
‘Clients too have been amazing, we still have our very first client and machine that we placed into the field in Birmingham in June 2000. The machine is still in our warehouse taking pride of place, and we will never scrap it!’
City Vending prides itself on first class service plus a high level of loyalty and honesty, and they still use many of the suppliers from the early days. ‘ARN (Automatic Retail Northern) have been amazing over the years and have continued to be so during these strange times of the pandemic.’
Kelly and Shawn told PV. ‘The market has changed so much in the last 20 years, and will no doubt continue to do so but over the years we have met some fabulous people, that we can now call friends, within the industry.’
They both wanted to pass on their thanks to everyone who has supported them over the years, including ‘our fab employees’, ‘our wonderful suppliers and our great clients’ As to be expected there will be no party on the day, as was planned, due to Covid 19, but they are keen to point out that there will be plenty of celebrations at the first possible opportunity!
Kelly provided PV with one of her famous, fabulous images of her with Shawn, but she was keen to point out that due to ‘lockdown hair’ she daren’t send us a current one!
Happy Birthday guys, and cheers!
