A Coffee Machine S.O.S. has been issued By The NHS. Can You Help Please?
The AVA has been contacted by the NHS Coffee Appeal, which is seeking coffee machines and supplies to help keep doctors and nurses going through their long shifts during the coronavirus crisis.
So far, 20 NHS Trusts across London have put out A Coffee Machine S.O.S and they estimate that a total of 700 coffee machines are currently needed along with capsule supplies.
They’re not only interested in capsule machines though… ‘Hardly any NHS wards have an espresso machine’, according to nhscoffeeappeal.com ‘Most have got one of those industrial tubs of instant, but we know they’d massively appreciate something that tastes better (we’ve asked). It isn’t the biggest thing they need, granted. But this is something that’s easy to help with.’
The AVA’s Kennedy Proctor says, ‘If there is any way that AVA members who already provide machines to Trusts in these areas, or product suppliers can help in any way, large or small, then the appeal would love to hear from you and they would be highly appreciative if you could respond to the Machine S.O.S’
The team at the NHS coordinating this appeal consist of Ed, Tom, Ana, Caroline and Frances and can be reached at team@nhscoffeeappeal.com, . or call them on 0771 8585 9090.

Our amazing medics don’t ask for much. Maybe you have two or three re-furbished espresso machines sat in the warehouse, or a few bean-to-cup machines that you’ve recently replaced with something new and shiny? Maybe you have a stack of unsold Keurig machines on a pallet somewhere? The website will tell you which hospitals need your help, together with chapter on verse on how to deliver your coffee machines to the people who, right now, would be very glad of them.
