A new Facebook Group, ‘Coffee & Vending – In It Together’, is growing fast, having accumulated almost 50 members in its first few days.
The group has been established by Evoca UK Sales Director, Craig Jukes. In the ‘About’ paragraph, Craig writes: ‘The world has changed and so must we. ‘Coffee & Vending – In It Together’ is dedicated to businesses leading the way through a global crisis, recession and transformation for the better within our industry. This is aimed at all coffee supply, vending operators, machine manufacturers – anyone connected directly to our industry with the aim to share ideas, initiatives or even just support to help everyone through these tough times. In a time where people are having to rethink their work and their business, we want to share key ideas on how to make it through and succeed on the other side. I’m sure you will get great value from this group but keep in mind: No selling our stuff to the group No being a unkind … You never know what someone else is dealing with. Add value, like, comment and share. Invite good people to join too. Thank You.’
Along with an open invitation to join, on Zoom, the AVA’s ‘Virtual Coffee Morning’, (details of which are HERE), the ‘Coffee & Vending – In It Together’ Facebook Group provides a welcome and valuable way for those of us in vending to stay in touch with each other.
These are difficult times: according to a letter sent by EVA boss Paolo Ghidotti to European leaders, many operators are already facing the reality of losing 90% of their income, as many workplaces close in order to stem the growth of the virus. (You can read the letter in full, HERE). The irony is that, just as vending operators are really up against it, their role in serving key workers – not least those on the NHS front-line – has never been more vital.
Joining ‘Coffee & Vending – In It Together’ won’t help us influence those powers-that-be to make a special case for vending, but it’ll give us the chance to chew the fat with like-minded people – and maybe that will help us all to keep our spirits up during this unprecedented time of trial.
