It’s ‘sofa, so good’ for Nebrak!

Madame Tussauds London caused quite a stir recently, when they took George Clooney onto the streets of London to give fans a sneak preview of his brand-new wax figure. Seated on a leather sofa, suited and booted in superstar style, the much admired Silver Fox got hearts racing and showed just why a recent poll declaring him ‘the most desirable Valentine’s Day date’.

Not George Clooney… Paul Howard!

‘We’re constantly seeking our guests’ views and opinions and recently, we asked them which celebrity they would most like to have a Valentine’s date with’, said Tussauds PR Manager, Nicole Fenner.  ‘There was a very clear winner with Mr Clooney scoring far more votes than anyone else, so we decided to make some of his fans dreams come true with a pre-Valentine’s Day date with our own version of Gorgeous George. This is a brand new wax figure that has yet to make its debut in the attraction, so the people here on Carnaby Street are the very first to get up close to it – and judging by the response it looks like he’s got the seal of approval.’

Now, if you’re thinking, ‘what’s this got to do with vending?’, then the answer is: ‘Nebrak’.

Whilst the Devon based company is well known to all of us in the business for its expertise in creating vending surrounds, designing and building exhibition stands and installing stunning café / grazing areas, few in the vending fraternity know that Nebrak counts Tussauds amongst its customers alongside Vendman and N&W, (to name but two).  In fact, dear reader, the very sofa upon which George is reposing was custom built by – you guessed it – Nebrak…

When PV caught up with MD Paul Howard, though, he didn’t appear to be as pleased as he might have been at the news that the ersatz Mr. Clooney had parked his bum on a Nebrak original. He blamed his long face on ‘pressure of work in the run up to AVEX 2013’, but we reckon he was more subdued than usual because the UK public had the temerity to chose Clooney as their dream date, rather than his good self…

Never mind Paul, you can’t win ’em all. Unless, of course, you’re George Clooney!
