KREA ES wins the Coffee Professionals Cup 2012
N&W’s fast-selling Krea table-top has partnered Fredrik Brunberg to top spot in the Nordic Championship Coffee Professionals Cup 2012, sponsored by Nestlé Professional.
Fredrik plies his trade in the Office Coffee division of Kaffekompaniet (‘The Coffee Company’). It’s a role that takes him all over Sweden, selling and renting out vending machines from N&W’s Necta and Wittenborg ranges.
Kaffekompaniet states that its vision is: ‘that the coffee delivered to the customers should taste just as good as in their favourite café’, so doubtless H. Brunberg is displaying some fresh plumage in his headwear just now; but what’s good news for Fredrik is even better news for N&W. Plaudits for Krea continue to flow in thick and fast from all over Europe, and a prestigious championship win such as this will do it’s burgeoning reputation no harm at all.
Fredrik chose the Necta Krea ES
Fredrik said he chose to use the latest Krea ES in the Nordic championship – and this is roughly translated – ‘in order to get a chance to demonstrate it to colleagues in the trade and customers. But also in order to demonstrate that the Z4000 brewer can make a cup of coffee that is just as good or even better than other brands within both the vending and the HORECA trade.’ Didn’t they know that already, Fredrik?
Fredrik and the machine triumphed by overcoming a sequence of demanding challenges: Five different variations of coffee had to be delivered in only 10 minutes, using only Nestlé and Zoégas coffee. The quality of the drinks was judged by three professional baristas, each boasting a brag file of competition victories as long as your arm, as you might expect.
There were ten contestants, who started the day by fine-tuning and adjusting an array of ‘state of the art’ table tops. Fine tuning? Minute adjustments to grinding and dosing; to extraction time, to acid content and, not least, the all-important achievement of optimum temperature.
If only we could insist that every automatic machine was always so painstakingly prepared for service and used only the highest quality ingredients… Vending would be a safer place, then.
N&W Krea created an excellent coffee flavour
Y’see, it’s true: an automatic machine really can capture the unique characteristics of each coffee bean. (If only we could insist that every automatic machine was always so painstakingly prepared for service and used only the highest quality ingredients… Vending would be a safer place, then). The judges lavished praise on Fredrik because he (and I quote) ‘by means of the Krea created an excellent coffee flavour where both the roast as well as the origin of the coffee were brought forward.’ I think we know what they meant.
Planet Vending says ‘well done’ to Fredrik and Kaffekompaniet, but we imagine that the good folks in Valbrembo will be more ammirato than most to hear the news.
NB. The Championship Coffee Professionals Cup is held annually at the sumptuous Örenäs Castle in Glumslöv, south of Helsingborg in Sweden. If you ever have cause to stay in that far-off neck of the skog, you could choose worse digs.
