Guy Jaques has announced that it is with some sadness he has decided to leave his position of MD of Nupik Flo to set up his own marketing and on line retail business.
When PV caught up with him he was keen to stress that the parting was on very good terms and that he was still passionate about the business that he’s been a part of for so many years. In fact, anyone listening in on the conversation could be convinced that we were having an interview about the accomplishments and scope of Nupik Flo. (A conversation we’d be happy exploring with Nupik Flo by the way!)
Already involved in the lingerie world with his wife for a number of years, and with a new portfolio of clients that will keep him busy for the rest of the year, the time seemed right for Guy to follow his heart and set up Amagence.
With clients from the equestrian world, men’s footwear, and lingerie you could argue that Guy couldn’t be further away from vending if he tried. However, he’s confident that he’ll still be involved as he develops his client portfolio.
As a recent arrival onto the board of the AVA as Vice Chairman it was obvious from our conversation that Guy was sad to confirm that he won’t be able to continue his tenure. No doubt we’ll hear who will take over in due course.
AVA CEO David Llewellyn had this to say about Guy
‘Guy has served as a helpful and welcome volunteer and on the AVA Board since October 2016. More recently as Deputy Chair and lead on the Environment committee.
His knowledge of the cup market and contribution to the ‘latte levy’ debate during visits to HM Treasury and Defra will be missed. But we wish him well on his new path – although I suspect, as always, he will probably be back. It is very hard to completely escape the Vending world!’
So as we say goodbye to Guy, we wish him well in his new career. You can keep in touch with him through his new, soon to be completed, website here.
