Televend, the leading automated retail provider in Europe, has been making a great impact on the UK market since establishing its local office more than two years ago. Today, Televend’s UK representatives are Richard Davies and Ian Forde. PV caught up with them as they prepared for Vendex.
Ian Forde (main image, seated) confirms that Televend’s mantra, ‘think globally, act locally’, has already yielded some great success. ‘In the last couple of years, we’ve established a strong presence in the UK market, working with operators in all regions of the UK and Ireland,’ he says. ‘Televend has already been endorsed by many prominent UK companies such as the Upton Group and the Wise Vending Group.
‘UK companies see Televend as a highly efficient solution based on real-time cloud technology, years ahead of slow, outdated systems. Without the IT infrastructure and additional resources to worry about, Televend cloud solution is accessible to a company of any size. Moreover, the real-time technology allows companies to make changes instantly and get very fast results. Most of Televend’s customers see their ROI in the first year of implementing Televend’, Ian adds.
One of Televend’s pillars is innovation and investing heavily in new technologies, as Richard Davies (main image, standing) reminds us. ‘Televend continuously stays ahead of global trends, committed to leveraging the power of AI within our systems’, he says. Televend’s brightest star just now is an AI-based route planning that analyses factors like machine sales numbers, traffic reports, and merchandisers’ working hours to plan the most optimal route schedule for a whole week. ‘We’re very proud of our automatic route planning’, Richard adds. ‘You can sit and relax while the system does everything for you with one click!’
profits are reinvested to enhance our solutions
Televend has rapidly expanded its product offering over a short period of time, demonstrating commitment to the market, as Richard explains: ‘Our developers work in five-quarter development cycles, and profits are reinvested to enhance our solutions and meet the ever-changing demands of the customers. We started as a telemetry pioneer focused on the vending. Today, we have advanced payment and loyalty solutions, micro markets, a comprehensive VMS (Vending Management System), not to mention the award-winning Masterpiece innovation.’
It’s not all about software: Televend is justifiably proud of the services it provides. ‘We understand that transitioning to any new system is a serious undertaking, but we want to make it as easy as possible’ Richard says. ‘Our phenomenal support guides you through every step of the integration. We do it as a pilot system, introducing the software in smaller increments, checking the results, making adjustments along the way.’
One of Televend’s biggest strengths is its people. Ian Forde again: ‘Televend employs over 200 professionals in the field of AI, software development, and engineering and we create every part of our products in-house – from software to hardware.’
‘We will continue with our planned growth strategy for the UK market’, Ian says, ‘starting by adding to the headcount with by recruiting individuals who share our passion and commitment to the business and our customers. Our message to UK operators is that at Televend, we’re not just about providing short term solutions. On the contrary, we’re here to build long lasting partnerships with our customers and collaborate with other suppliers to make the best possible solutions. We are here to stay and we’ve only just begun.’
